    • UMS cleaning fluid to carry out the daily maintenance: RJ80UMS-100-CLN

      Important

Please make sure to order UMS ink packs for XpertJet and UMS maintenance cleaning fluid separately!

How to proceed?

  1. Boot the new printer in "Board Manager Mode" and update the firmware with the MSA 5.0 tool (or higher)
(do NOT use the MSM - Mutoh Status Monitor: this will not work here)
    • “XPJ1641SR_V102.JFL” for XPJ1641SR
    • “XPJ1682SR_V103.JFL” for XPJ1682SR

      WARNING

If you do not use these firmware-versions (or higher) the boot up cycle of the printer with UMS ink will fail!!

  2. Install the wiper and exchange the spitting box absorbent with a spitting box absorbent for UMS ink:
    "VJ16STG-FB-W3"
  3. Boot the printer in user mode, enter the initial settings (language, IP address, activation, etc...)
  4. Start the ink charge and perform initial cleaning

  5. Unpack and insert the MS41 300ml Cleaning packs and MS41 cleaning smart cards

  6. Use the MS41 cleaner 300 ml smart chips to perform the wash cycle. One wash cycle is ok.

    Info:

With the former Firmware version at this stage, UMS cleaning smart chips were needed. With these new released versions these are no longer needed and you must use the MS41 smart chips delivered wit the MS41 cleaning bags.

  7. The display will show: "Wash Retry?" -> Choose No

  8. Insert the UMS ink packs in the ink cases, install them in the printer and insert the UMS smart chips

  9. Start an "Ink Charge" with the UMS inks.
