Necessary tools

In order to be able to upload your new S Class 2 firmware, Summa's Cutter Control tool is required.

After connecting your plotter, the Actions button will allow you to browse for your new firmware.

The latest firmware is available below this article or on the download page of the Summa website.

The new Summa S Class 2 firmware MD9981 (rev 26) includes the following changes: 

• Improvement: Measure at least one time on the XY line. 

• Improvement: Remove 'alignment mode' from the front panel menu.

• Improvement: Do not use (S)P6 as a tool selected for the extra pen anymore.

• Improvement: Remove FlexCut mode setting from the front panel menu.

• Improvement: Use MD5 hash to generate MAC address.

• Improvement: Use summa.com/register as a reference for activation codes.

• Improvement: OPOS_LINE_STEP according to X-marker distance.

• Improvement: Do not set overcut to 0,5 mm by default when panelling is used.

• Issue: Origin shift between measuring random regmarks and cutting.

• Improvement: In firmware 17 a better control of the up position during cutting was implemented. However, this sometimes gave extra disturbing and noisy up movements. If needed this “up position control” is now changed to a more subtle movement, each time the tool goes to its up position.
• Solved bug: “Cut sheets” option in the Action menu with “Autoload” deactivated did not function.

• Improvement: during the media weight check (service mode), also the measured value will be shown when the acceleration is reduced.
• Improvement: In the monitor test the machine will show the height of the head (UD encoder) in millimeter instead of encoder steps.
