When should I use an AAS segment positioning OR an AAS segment cutting alignment?

In addition to the classic 4 original points, the intermediate registration marks are added on both X and Y axis to help cutting your contour data more accurately. Especially for cutting multiple copies, or larger images.

Both segment alignments do have identical registration mark locations, hence the mark reading and data plotting will be executed differently.

Possibility 1: AAS Segment Positioning

Sequence: firstly, all registrations marks will be scanned. Secondly the entire plot data will be cutted.

Possibility 2: AAS Segment Cutting

Sequence: segment 1, segment 2, segment 3, ...

  • Segment 1
    • 4 registrations marks will be scanned
    • plot data for segment 1 will be cutted.
  • Segment 2
    • 4 registrations marks will be scanned
    • plot data for segment 1 will be cutted.
  • ...

Note / disadvantage: for each segment overlap zone, a start - stop joining connection will be present. If these connections do not perfectly match, a joint problem will be valid.
