How to fine-tune your contour data positioning?

Modified on Thu, 14 Jun, 2018 at 2:38 PM

To reposition your contour data more accurately, two settings need to be verified.

  • Image scale length / width
  • AAS offset parameters (X,Y)

To accomplish above verifications, please perform following tests.

Image scale length / width

  • Plot a rectangle of 500 x 500 mm, and practically measure the dimensions that were plotted.
  • Measure the plot output in both X, Y directions, and enter these dimensions / values in the appropriate plotter menu.

Menu: Image scale length / Image scale width

For instructions how to use the menu / enter your values, please have a detailed look at our User Guide.

AAS offset parameters (X,Y)

How to verify the AAS X Offset, AAS Y Offset value?

  • Print a small contour rectangle width the reference marks around it.

  • Start the contour cutting task, and verify the contour positioning of the plot window.
Depending on the position of that plot window, adapt the AAS X, Y values on panel accordingly.

    Example 1:

The red window is your plot window. As you can see, we have to recalibrate our window in the X and Y direction.
    X: + 0.5mm, Y: +1mm

    Example 2:

The green window is your plot window. As you can see, we have to recalibrate our window in the X and Y direction.
    X: + 0.5mm, Y: -1mm
