Replacing the circulation pump (VJ-426UF)

TIP: The total amount of ink used: about 350ml
| 1 When the printer is in the operation mode or in the self-diagnosis menu mode, press the [Power] key to turn off the printer. 2 While holding down the [ - ], [ + ], and [>] keys on Operation panel simultaneously, press the [Power] key. The system will transit to the self-diagnosis menu display mode. |
| 3 Perform ink drainage operation and drain ink from all the ink path. Note: after discharging ink, make sure that all cartridges are removed. |
| 4 Turn off the printer. |
| 5 Remove any cables connected to the printer. |
| 6 Remove the screws (x3) retaining the side cover L. A : Tapping screw M4x10 S Tight cup |
| 7 Remove the screws (x2) retaining the side cover L. A : Tapping screw M4x8 S Tight Bind |
| 8 Move the table by hand to the back. |
| 9 Remove the screw retaining the side cover L. A : Tapping screw M4x12 PTight Bind |
| 10 Move the table by hand to the front. |
| 11 Lower the table downward. |
| 12 Remove the screw retaining the side cover L. A : Tapping screw M4x12 PTight Bind |
| 13 Remove Side Cover. Pull horizontally on the outside. TIP: When removing the side cover L is difficult, loosen the screw (x1) retaining the front cover. A : Tapping screw M4x8 S tight bind |
| 14 Put cellophane sheets (yellow) to the printer body with tape. Note: This work is to block the UV light. |
| 15 Remove the cable from the clamp on the back side of the circulation pump. A : Clamp B : Cable |
| 16 Remove the circulation pump relay cable. A : connecting point |
| 17 Remove the cables from the edge saddle. A : Edge saddle B : Cable |
| 18 Remove the screws (x2) retaining the circulation pump. A : Pan-head screw with spring washer and flat washer M3x10 |
| 19 Remove the ink tubes (x3) from the L joint and T fitting. A : L joint B : T fitting C : Ink tube • Mark the place to which tube is attached. • Residual ink may be discharged from the tubes. Place a stainless steel plate, waste cloth or waste media under the tubes during maintenance. |
| 20 Cut the tip of the removed ink tube (x3). (the position of 3mm from the tip) C : Ink tube • Use a tube cutter. • Correctly cut the tube at 3mm from the tip. If not, the tube cannot be properly connected and it may cause ink leakage. |
| 21 Replace the circulation pump. |
| 22 Wipe out ink or cleaner on the ink tubes. Note: If ink or cleaner was left on the tubes, it may lead to broken tube and cause ink leakage. |
| 23 To reassemble unit, reverse the removal procedure. |
| 24 Connect the power cable to the printer main body. |
| 25 While holding down [<] key, [Setting/Value-] key and [>] key on Operation panel simultaneously, press [Power] key. The operation panel displays the maintenance mode 2 menu. |
| 26 Initialize the life counter of the circulation pump (C Pump). |
| 27 Turn off the printer. |
| 28 While holding down the [ - ], [ + ], and [>] keys on Operation panel simultaneously, press the [Power] key. The system will transit to the self-diagnosis menu display mode. |
| 29 Charge the ink. |
The replacement work is now completed.
