TIB822 - Incorrect length of waste fluid tube VJ-1638UR, VJ-1638UH

Modified on Thu, 10 Sep, 2020 at 1:44 PM

Over the course of time we have noticed that the waste fluid originating from the spitting box and the wiper assembly may possibly accumulate on these 2 units. Because the tube might be too long, old ink waste may deposit and block inside the curve of the tubing, which is connected to the waste manifold.

When you notice the length of the waste-tube is too long, it may curve downwards between the wiper coupling and the F-manifold.
This may cause an accumulation of particles, In particular when the printer is equipped with white ink.  This is not good because white pigments waste may deposit inside the curved part. Pigments will gradually accumulate and create clogs inside the curved part.

Over the course of time this might create an obstruction and may cause the spitting-box (and wiper box) to fill with waste-ink. When full it may overflow into the printer-body staining the unit inside and cause possible harm to cabling and electronics.

Solution

In order to avoid this situation always verify this waste-tube during technical maintenance:

Make sure that the waste tube originating from the spitting-box and wiper assy is in a straight line sloping down to the black F-manifold. Make also sure that the tube is properly connected to the F-manifold so it doesn't fall off.
