Procedure
To ensure optimal performance with the new ink for production, please follow this full discharge–ink load cycle:
XPJ-1642WR / XPJ-1682SR-DSP
- Print and save a nozzle check of your current setup.
- Run a Longstore in Diagnostics > Adjustment.
- When prompted for cleaning, press <Cancel> and reboot the printer.
- Note: Intermediate cleaning liquid is not required.
- When prompted, perform an Ink Charge using the DS4 inks. Select No when 'Wash Retry' is proposed.
- If the nozzle check isn’t perfect, follow up with a Little Charge.
- Let the printer rest for 15 minutes after charging before starting any prints.
XPJ-1341WR-P
- Print and save a nozzle check of your current setup.
- Run a Ink Discharge in Diagnostics > Adjustment.
- Restart the printer.
- When prompted, perform an Ink Charge using the DS4 inks. Select No when 'Wash Retry' is proposed.
- If the nozzle check isn’t perfect, follow up with a Little Charge.
- Let the printer rest for 15 minutes after charging before starting any prints.
Color Calibration
Due to the nature of the DS4 formulation:
- Perform a fresh ICC profile calibration.
- This is especially important for customers producing repeat/project work that requires strict colour consistency.
Important Operation Guidelines
- Maintaining constant temperature, pressure, and time during the calendar/heat press process is crucial.
- In dye sublimation, even minor variations can lead to visible colour differences.
- Apply a minimum temperature of 195°C to ensure consistent colour output.
- Always follow the weekly agitation of ink pouches as indicated on the packaging.
